Alexandra Bech Gjørv has been President and CEO of SINTEF, the largest independent research institution in Scandinavia, since 2016. She is an experienced industrial leader from companies like Statoil and Norsk Hydro, and has served on the board of a range of companies in industry, energy and media in Norway and internationally.
For five years, (until 2015) she was partner at the law firm Hjort, working on corporate and public sector governance, energy and employment. She chaired the national commission investigating the authorities' response to the terrorist attacks on the government center complex and the youth camp at Utøya 22nd of July 2011.
Alexandra has a law degree from University in Oslo, New York State bar exam, and has studied at Oxford University and Suffolk Law School in Boston.
